Frigid warmth collection, 2021-2023
Frigid Warmth is a deeply personal exploration of contrasts—My work has always been driven by contrast—light and shadow, chaos and stillness, beauty and desolation. With Frigid Warmth, I reflect on my infatuation with the cold, wet, dark, and windswept landscapes of England. Though often perceived as harsh and unwelcoming, these barren terrains have revealed to me a quiet, undeniable beauty.
Through this series, I explore the tension between isolation and comfort, fragility and resilience. Each piece captures the raw emotion of these landscapes, transforming their starkness into something intimate and compelling. By immersing myself in these environments, I have come to appreciate the delicate balance between their unforgiving nature and their haunting allure. More than just a study of place, Frigid Warmth is an exploration of experience—the ability to find warmth in the cold, depth in the emptiness, and poetry in the silence.
